Industrial Maintenance Technician

Program Number: 32-462-1
School Year: 2012-2013
Technical Diploma (2 year)
Campus: Fond du Lac

Program Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician program prepares students to enter several technology driven fields; i.e., manufacturing, food and beverage processing and building maintenance. The skills for installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair continue to be in high demand. The Industrial Maintenance Technician program provides students training in the areas of fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics), industrial electrical/electronics and instrumentation, machining, welding, programmable logic control (PLC), motor control automation and renewable energy sources.

Students will develop a wide variety of technical skills in electrical/electronics, fluid power, mechanical systems, computers and computer-controlled interface units. Programmable logic controllers, motors and drives, servo hydraulic systems and closed loop positioning will be studied. A comprehensive understanding of how these technical skill areas are linked together to create automated systems is developed through hands-on project coursework that allows the student to put together the various technologies into a computer-integrated system.
