Transferring College Credit to MPTC FAQs

MPTC accepts credits from most regionally accredited colleges or universities.

MPTC awards transfer credit for courses that fulfill requirements within your intended program of study. Course must have a minimum grade of “C” or better (Grades of C- or CD do not meet this requirement.)

You can learn more about which specific courses are accepted for transfer at MPTC by using Transferology, a free service which allows students to see how their college credits are accepted at schools throughout the country.

Transferring coursework from non-U.S. colleges and universities requires approval from the MPTC Registrar. English translations (completed by an approved translation service) of non-English international transcripts are required. Below are several translation services previously approved by the Registrar’s Office:

  • ECE (Educational Credentials Evaluators) ece.org
  • Education Evaluators International, Inc. educei.com
  • Joseph Silny & Associates, Inc. jsilny.com

Since MPTC does not teach graduate courses, these credits from other institutions are not eligible for transfer into MPTC. In some cases, course waivers are available for students whose program requirements are met through graduate level work from other institutions.

MPTC uses American Council of Education (A.C.E.) credit recommendations only to award credit for military training and experience as noted on the Department of Defense Joint Services Transcript.

Courses completed through online learning platforms (i.e. Study.com, Straighterline, Saylor Direct, etc) are not accepted for college credit unless the platform is sponsored by a regionally accredited college or university.  However, students completing coursework through these types of platforms may be able to utilize MPTC’s Credit via Exam or Credit via Experience process to earn MPTC credit for those courses.

Yes, some specific MPTC programs have an age of credit restriction or have different minimum grade requirements for their courses.

It typically takes up to two weeks to process and review transcript documents.
