MPTC and UWM Grow Partnership

Moraine Park Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee signed an articulation agreement on June 26 at the West Bend Campus. This agreement will add nearly 50 new program pathways for Moraine Park students to seamlessly continue their education at UWM with a confirmed junior status.

The agreement was signed by Bonnie Baerwald, Moraine Park President, Doug Hamm, Moraine Park Vice President of Teaching and Learning, Mark Mone, UWM Chancellor, and Andrew Daire, UWM Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

“We believe that education should be accessible to all,” Mone said. “This agreement guarantees admission and streamlines the transfer process, demonstrating our commitment to breaking down barriers and empowering students to pursue a life-changing education.”

In fall 2023, Moraine Park was part of a large articulation agreement between UWM and four other technical colleges. This agreement builds upon that initial partnership, opening the doors for Moraine Park Associate of Arts, Associate of Sciences and Associate of Applied Sciences students in the following programs:

Moraine Park students who take advantage of this transfer agreement will have the opportunity to earn a baccalaureate degree at UWM in the one of the following schools:

To date, Moraine Park has secured over 25 transfer agreements with partner colleges and plans to continue adding more, giving district students more options and control when it comes to their education and making the future transfer process easier and more streamlined.

“At Moraine Park, we strive to serve our students throughout their entire educational journey – this includes after they leave our campuses and transfer on to our four-year partners,” Hamm said. “These agreements with UWM hold significant importance as it not only serves our students, but also continues to fill the educational needs of Washington County constituents in light of recent changes in the higher education landscape. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to serving southeastern Wisconsin together.”
