Crafts and Recreation Classes
Have you been wanting to start beekeeping? This is a thorough workshop for startup beekeepers. Topics include: honey bee biology; proper equipment including setup and tools, colony management; diseases and pest control; honey harvesting and extraction; and wintering. This class is intended for those who want to start beekeeping; those who have had bees for a year or two and want to learn more; and those who are simply fascinated by the craft of beekeeping.
Now that your bees survived the winter, how do you manage the bees in year two. Does it feel like the more you experience in beekeeping the more questions you have? If so, this is the class for you. We will discuss: colony management in year two, different ways to do a split; requeening; swarming; how to do a necropsy; varroa mite monitoring, management and control including treatment options and timing; how to get ready for overwintering your bees; and so much more. You will learn from a beekeeper with 30 years of experience. This class is appropriate for those having kept bees at least one year.
Create a beautiful, fresh evergreen wreath just in time for the holiday season! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of wreath design, including selecting and layering greenery, securing materials, and adding decorative accents. The instructor will guide you step-by-step as you craft your own custom wreath to take home and display. All materials are provided. No prior experience is necessary, just bring your creativity and enjoy a fun, festive experience!
Designed for new and practicing artists, this watercolor class invites you to explore, practice, and deepen your skills in a relaxed and supportive setting. We’ll focus on essential techniques, expressive brush strokes, and the beautiful balance between control and letting go. This is a space to experiment, gain confidence, and experience the joy of creating a finished piece of art without pressure, just curiosity and flow. All are welcome, and if you have favorite brushes, you’re encouraged to bring them along. Please bring a reference photo or two that you would like to make into a painting.
Curious about ice fishing but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the basics of safe and enjoyable ice fishing. This class covers essential ice safety, recommended cold weather gear, and beginner techniques for drilling holes, getting a line in the water, and catching fish. Perfect for those wanting to try ice fishing for the first time and build confidence before heading out on the ice.
Join Wisconsin’s only certified KonMari Master Consultant, Trista Michels, as she teaches weekly tools and steps to remove the overwhelm and helplessness that clutter may cause. The KonMari Method guides you to realize how each individual item in the home makes you feel, what your intentions are for keeping it, and why it’s important to let items go when it feels appropriate to do so. By the end of class, you will have tangible steps you can take to have your home feeling calm and welcoming in no time.
Join KonMari Master Consultant, professional organizer, and intuitive life coach Trista Michels of Third Eye Tidy as we talk about how to remove the things in life that don’t matter. Physical clutter has a direct correlation to mental clutter, and many of us feel completely overwhelmed by the surplus of items, obligations, and stressors in our lives. We often aren’t sure how to sort through these things and spend our time and attention on the things that really matter to us. Trista will not only teach different ways to declutter the physical items from the home, but will also suggest ways to determine which factors, like food, jobs, and people, are truly bringing joy. You will learn how to live life with more intention, and how to leave behind the things that no longer serve you in life.

Perfect for both new and experienced travelers. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to research real-time travel deals during class.
Discover Digital Photography is designed for the novice photographer with no previous experience with digital cameras.
This course will teach you all about digital cameras, from DSLRs to smart phone cameras and what different equipment is used for. You will learn about different display methods for your camera, including sizing, print options, online storage, and how social media factors into digital photography. If you have old slides, negatives, or prints, this course will also teach you how to scan those “old school” photo assets.

Secrets of Better Photography will teach you how to take outstanding photos. Whether you use a DSLR, a point-and-shoot camera, or your phone for your photography, you will learn how to get the best results from your camera.
This hands-on course will teach you how to choose the right photographic equipment to compose images with style. You can take your camera out of auto mode after learning about lighting, motion, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings. You will also explore common photography topics, including portraiture, children’s photography, pet photography, and digital editing.

Culinary Classes
Entry level bakers will learn how to bake specialty holiday cookies. Pairs of students, under the direction and guidance of a culinarian, will prepare and bake specialty holiday cookies and learn tips to enhance products. At the end of the class, each participant will leave with approximately 2-3 dozen of the total cookies produced. Please bring a cookie container.
Learn how to bake and prepare a variety of hearth and flat breads and several hearty cream and broth soups to be tasted and enjoyed.
Autumn is peak mushroom season. This class is your opportunity to learn the basics of wild techniques to identify fall wild mushrooms and edible mushroom identification. We will discuss the habitat where they grow. Our focus will be on safety and on choice edible species. Poisonous mushrooms will also be discussed. After our Friday classroom time, we will head to the woods on Saturday. On our field trip we will identify everything that is found and document each species to be included in the state records of species. This is a great opportunity for citizen scientists. Class size will be limited due to the outdoor aspect of foraging.

Learn to prepare traditional northern Italian cuisine of Italy, including sauces, soups, flatbread and roasted vegetables.
Newly researched anti-inflammatory diet principles and recipes are designed to help us eat wholesome foods that help eliminate chronic inflammation. Discover which foods help control inflammation. Prepare and taste flavorful recipes that will help you tweak your diet for healthy results.
Health and Wellness Classes
Experience the benefits of yoga with our gentle yet effective class designed to enhance flexibility, balance, strength and posture. Ideal for beginners and those at a moderate exercise level, this course emphasizes breath work, proper posture alignment and relaxation techniques. Our sessions are slow-paced and calming, offering a perfect yoga experience. Please wear comfortable exercise clothing and bring a yoga mat. A yoga block and hand towel are also recommended.
Fall asleep easily and quickly by learning to release the endless mind chatter in our brains. Learn natural, holistic and practical techniques to develop a calm and peaceful mind for healthy and longer sleep.
Want to be loved more? Want to feel more deserving? Want to trust more? Learn how to unleash your inner power mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. You will be taught how to keep your energy high, maintain it, and not give it away. This class focuses on the characteristics of the Heart Chakra and how to bring back love, deservingness, trust and balance into your life.
In this two-hour immersive class, you will explore the transformative power of sound in promoting physical, mental, and emotional healing. Sound healing meditation uses the vibrations of instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and tuning forks to align the body and mind, release stress, and foster a deep sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. You will learn about the science behind sound therapy, how different frequencies can impact the body’s energy fields, and how to incorporate sound healing into your own meditation practice. You will experience a guided sound meditation session, where you can immerse yourself in therapeutic sounds designed to clear blockages, balance your chakras, and harmonize your entire being. Dress comfortably and bring an (optional) yoga mat.
Learn the benefits of meditation, how and when to meditate, focused attention, and how to slow down and release your mind in this informative and relaxing class. Students will practice meditating and each individual will receive a customizable meditation based on their goals and energy scan.
The breath is our life force and brings balance to the body. Deep breathing promotes relaxation, but in today’s society many have forgotten how to properly breathe. In this workshop, we’ll explore the mechanics of the breath, learn techniques to strengthen the diaphragm, and practice mindful breathing to calm the nervous system and restore balance. Through guided exercises, you’ll experience how intentional breathwork can release tension, increase energy, and cultivate clarity. Discover how conscious breathing can transform your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Reconnect with your life force—one breath at a time.
This class offers a holistic approach to weight loss. This means addressing all aspects of well-being, not just diet and exercise. Holistic weight loss recognizes that everyone’s journey is unique. Learn how to nourish your body and mind, on and off the plate, and to empower yourself to stick to your weight loss goals. Topics include overcoming emotional related overeating, handling stress, practical and natural ways to lose weight, mindful eating and fasting, and how your body mirrors your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Create a strong, trim, healthy body and the lifestyle you’ve always wanted.
In this two-hour class, you will dive into the Danish concept of hygge (pronounced hoo-gah), which emphasizes comfort, coziness, and creating moments of well-being in everyday life. Discover how hygge is not just about physical surroundings, but also a mindset that fosters warmth, connection, and joy. Throughout the session, you will explore the core principles of hygge and how to incorporate them into your daily routines, from mindful living and decluttering to creating cozy spaces and practicing gratitude.
Motorcycle/Scooter Classes
These courses provide beginning or returning riders with hands-on experience in the basic skills of riding. Motorcycles are provided by MPTC. To reserve a scooter, select a class under the “Scooter” column.
PRE-REQUISITE: WisDOT Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course e-course.
REQUIREMENT: Students under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian signed waiver.
Personal Finance and Law Classes
This course will assist you in gaining knowledge on managing health care expenses in retirement. We will cover topics such as when to sign up for Medicare, what Parts A, B, C, D cover, and how to plan for health care expenses during retirement. Anyone retiring or planning to retire should attend this informative workshop.
Trades Classes
This workshop is designed for beginners as well as the experienced artist. Learn safety precautions in handling, setup and use of welding equipment. Learn how to cut metal and join two pieces of metal together as you design a small project for your home or garden. You may incorporate personal objects into your project. Bring safety glasses. Helmets and gloves are provided.
Take your home garden art welding project to the next level when you advance your welding skills. Required to have taken 442-617 Home and Garden Art Welding Project I. Bring safety glasses. Helmets and gloves are provided.
Learn the safe use of power and hand tools and project planning. Create a basic project while applying safety procedures for woodworking. Students are required to supply their own projects. This class is open to both men and women and is strongly encouraged for beginners.
Construct individualized wooden projects. Safety will be stressed. Students are required to supply their own projects. This class is open to anyone that enjoys woodworking projects and students are strongly encouraged to take a Woodworking for Beginners class prior to this class or seek teacher approval.

- Class fees include tuition and classroom/lab material fees. Out-of-state residents pay an additional $78.73 per credit.

- If a class is full, please request to be placed on the waitlist. Waitlists are compiled on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Students on a waitlist for personal enrichment or continuing education courses will be notified via their personal email. - Audit policy: Students may choose to audit undergraduate (UG) level courses to gain a general understanding of the subject matter. The student must submit a completed Audit Course Intent Form at the time of registration. Audited classes do not earn credit, and standard tuition, fees and withdrawal policies apply. Students auditing a course may not be added to a wait list.
