Financial Aid Timeline
For Students starting the traditional Academic Cycle with Fall Semester:
- The FAFSA is available on October 1st in the prior fall*
- Priority for FAFSA application date April 15th
- Priority file completion date June 1st
- Fall tuition payments due (or authorized aid) August
- Fall Bookstore authorizations allowed 10 days prior to the first day of the fall term
- Fall Financial Aid disbursements to student accounts September
- Spring tuition payments due (or authorized aid) January
- Spring Bookstore authorizations allowed 10 days prior to the first day of the spring term
- Spring Financial Aid disbursements to student accounts February
*the 2024-2025 FAFSA application will be available December 2023
For Students starting in January:
- Priority FAFSA application date October 15th with the current FAFSA
- Financial Aid documents due Third Wednesday of November
- Spring tuition payments due (or authorized aid) January
- Spring Bookstore authorizations allowed 10 days prior to the first day of the spring term
- Spring Financial Aid disbursements to student accounts February
- Important! Re-apply for the upcoming aid year starting October 1st in the prior fall
Note: You must apply for financial aid each year at Studentaid.gov.
Students must apply for financial aid no later than: On or before their last day of attendance for the academic year, or June 30th of the academic year, whichever is earlier.
Important Dates by Month
January
- Spring bookstore charges to anticipated aid begin. Check myMPTC Student for specific dates.
- Spring classes begin. Check the academic calendar or your student schedule for the specific date.
- Satisfactory academic progress will be monitored. Students with grade and/or completion problems will be mailed progress notices each term after grades have been entered.
- Spring registration fees are due. If you have not received your financial aid offer, and fees are due, you will need to make other arrangements to pay your fees.
February
- Spring Date of Record is always 15 calendar days into the semester. Check myMPTC Student for the specific date.
- Explore the Scholarships page for scholarship information and deadlines.
- Apply for Moraine Park Foundation Scholarships.
April
- Summer registration – select your classes carefully. Work closely with your advisor to select classes needed for graduation.
- Fall registration – select your classes carefully. Work closely with your advisor to select classes needed for graduation.
- Complete the summer financial aid application after you have registered for summer classes. Check myMPTC Student for more information.
- April 15th is the priority filing date for next academic year’s FAFSA.
May
- Summer tuition and fees are due.
- Spring classes end. Check academic calendar or your student schedule for last day of classes.
June
- While applications for aid are accepted at any time, those that are accurate, complete and received before June 1st will be given prior consideration for the next school year.
- Students who complete the application for financial aid after June 1st and who plan to attend in the fall semester may not receive a financial aid offer before registration fees are due.
- Summer Semester classes start. Check academic calendar or your student schedule for the specific date.
August
- Fall registration fees are due. If you have not received your financial aid offer, and fees are due, you will need to make other arrangements to pay your fees.
- Fall bookstore charges to anticipated aid begin. Check myMPTC Student for specific dates.
- Fall classes begin. Check academic calendar or your student schedule for the specific date.
September
- Fall Date of Record is always 15 calendar days into the semester. Check myMPTC Student for the specific date.
- Explore the Scholarships page for scholarship information and deadlines.
October
- Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the next year.
- Gather the tax and financial records you will need to complete the FAFSA.
- Submit your application online at Studentaid.gov.
November
- Spring registration – select your classes carefully. Work closely with your advisor to select classes needed for graduation.
December
- Fall classes end. Check academic calendar or your student schedule for last day of classes.
- Moraine Park closed for the holidays. Check academic calendar for dates.
