Moraine Park Highlights Manufacturing Month

Manufacturing Month is celebrated each October and offers endless opportunities for Moraine Park students to explore innovation, skill building, connectivity with local industry experts, and the seemingly endless career options in manufacturing.

Throughout the month, the College hosts and/or attends workshops, seminars, and industry tours to celebrate the importance of manufacturing in our economy.

Here’s a quick glance at all the opportunities offered to our students and members of the public this month.

Event

Manufacturing Month Speaker Series – West Bend Campus

Ross Weber, Vice President of Operations at DACO-Precision Tool Inc.

Description

The public is invited to Moraine Park’s kickoff event on October 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Bend Campus (room T131/T133). The event will be broadcast to room A.112 on the Fond du Lac Campus, too. A light lunch will be provided.

Ross Weber, Vice President of Operations at DACO-Precision Tool Inc., will present on the value of Technical Education and the state of the economy, with a focus on manufacturing. Throughout his tenure, Ross has held various roles with a strong focus on operations and sales, helping to drive efficiency and growth across the company. He holds associate degrees in Business Management from Moraine Park Technical College and in Fire Science from Waukesha County Technical College. In addition to his professional career, he serves as a volunteer Lieutenant with the Kewaskum Fire Department.  He is passionate about ensuring younger generations are exposed to manufacturing and understand the rewarding career opportunities the industry offers.

Discover Moraine Park Open House, Fond du Lac Campus

Invitation to the Discover Moraine Park Open House on the Fond du Lac Campus on October 1st between 5 and 7 pm.

Manufacturing instructors and career guidance counselors will provide information about manufacturing programs and careers.

Prospective students and their families are invited to tour the campus, talk to program instructors, explore student support services, and hear from financial aid experts.

Advanced Manufacturing Center, West Bend

The Advanced Manufacturing Center provides hands-on training for students entering high-skill, high-demand careers, ensuring a strong talent pipeline for local industry.

The public explored the new campus spaces, learned more about Moraine Park’s innovative programs, and enjoyed live music and food trucks on September 18.

Wisconsin Manufacturing & Technology Show

Students from the CNC/Tool & Die Technology, Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Electromechanical Technology, and Mechanical Design Technology programs will visit the Wisconsin Manufacturing & Technology Show at the Exposition Center in West Allis, WI.

On the way to and from the event, students will visit local manufacturers, including MGS .

Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology

The Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology program uses high-tech labs to introduce you to the latest manufacturing technologies, preparing you to adapt to changes in an ever-changing environment.

The program emphasizes applications in problem-solving, teamwork, and automated manufacturing technologies.

Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo

Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo Logo

Moraine Park welding and manufacturing faculty will host a booth at the Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo at the Washington County Fair Park in West Bend. The Expo is organized by the Chamber of Greater Menomonee Falls and Sussex and the Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce.

Careers in CNC/Tool and Die Technologies

The use of computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools is increasing throughout the manufacturing industry.

Moraine Park’s CNC Tool and Die Technologies diploma prepares students for an in-demand and highly-skilled career in manufacturing with the opportunity to advance quickly.

High School Career Experience Event

9th to 11th-grade students are invited to campus to explore programs available within their desired career cluster and engage in hands-on activities. Students will learn about High School Career Academies and how to leverage dual enrollment courses to get a jump start in their career and college education.

Manufacturing Month Speaker Series – West Bend Campus

Matt Weber, Milwaukee Tools

The public is invited to the Moraine Park Speaker Series event on October 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Bend Campus (room T137, Conference Center). The event will also be broadcast to room O109-C on the Fond du Lac Campus.

Matt Weber will present on Industry 4.0. He is the Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Milwaukee Tool’s West Bend facility, where he has played a key role in bringing the new site online, driving operational excellence, and delivering cutting-edge technologies. With over a decade of experience in manufacturing engineering, Matt has held positions at industry leaders, including Harley-Davidson and Rexnord. A former Infantry Sergeant in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, he brings strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to every challenge. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University.

Manufacturing First Expo & Conference

Moraine Park’s welding and manufacturing faculty and students will attend the Manufacturing First Expo and Conference at the Resch Expo in Green Bay.
