IT Mobile Application Developer Program Information
Important Information to Know
IT Mobile Applications classes are delivered in a video conference format to the West Bend and Fond du Lac campuses as well as in an online format. Classes are typically 16-weeks in duration. These classes are typically offered in the evening and may include an asynchronous option as well as fully online options. The classes follow a specific sequence each semester. It is important to work with your Academic Advisor when scheduling classes, especially if you are attending part-time. One mistake could delay your graduation by a full year.
There are also required general education courses (i.e. English, Psychology, and Technical Reporting) that are available in 8 or 16 week offerings. These classes have more flexibility in duration, scheduling, and location.
Something to consider: Moraine Park offers a dual degree in IT Mobile Application Developer and IT Web Development and Design Specialist. Upon completion you earn two associate degrees. While it’s possible to add it after you’ve started classes, it’s best to add right away to avoid challenges later.
Details when adding the dual degree with IT Web Development and Design:
- It requires 8 additional classes. (22 credits)
- A full-time student needs one extra semester (2.5 years) to complete. However, taking summer classes would allow you to progress more quickly.
- You would follow the dual degree academic planner.
- You would work with me to complete a Change of Program Form. (The name of the form is confusing, sorry.)

Technology Requirements
- Adobe Creative Cloud subscription is required for this program. You may purchase it through the MPTC Bookstore at a reduced student price. You will only need one account and it will be used for multiple classes.
- GoDaddy subscription is required for a web hosting plan and a domain name. This is a website domain and web host provider. The costs are minimal but fluctuate: domain names are $10 per year and a web host account can cost $10.99 a month. There are lower pricing options for extended subscriptions. You will only need one account and it will be used for multiple classes.
- There are additional software applications that you download FREE. These will be explained by faculty and listed on the course syllabus.
- A PC or MAC computer either desktop or laptop is required. No tablets or chrome books as these will not run the required software.
