Next Steps

  1. Throughout the year, utilize career exploration opportunities to determine career interests.
  2. Complete the Moraine Park registration form for courses you are enrolled in for the Fall and Spring semesters.
  3. Register for dual credit courses that you are enrolled in for the fall and spring semesters. Registration occurs at the high school in the dual credit course. (Note: You must register for the dual credit course to receive MPTC college credit.)
  4. Fall of Sophomore year, create a pathway of courses for career interest and review available Career Academies with a high school counselor.
  5. Determine dual credit courses that can be taken at your high school in your Junior year in your career interest area and add them to your high school schedule.
  6. Contact the Academy Enrollment Specialist to discuss academies of interest and if applicable, apply to an academy program.
  7. Determine Start College Now courses that could be taken your Junior year.
  8. Schedule your Start College Now Courses with your high school for your Junior year.
  9. Apply for Start College Now by March 1st deadline for Fall of Junior Year.

Morgan Schueler’s Early Academic Success

Morgan Schueler always knew she wanted to go to college to pursue her marketing dreams, and when the opportunity arose to fast-track the process, she jumped at the chance.  

While in high school, Schueler earned 39 dual enrollment credits through Dual Credit courses and Start College Now courses at no cost. She found herself halfway through the program and decided to personally invest in her education, covering the expenses for the remaining 32 credits required to complete the program.

By the time she earned her diploma from Princeton High School, she had also earned her associate degree in Business Management from Moraine Park.
