Types of Programs
ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (AAS)
Associate of Applied Science degree programs help you prepare for or advance in a particular occupation or field. Most AAS degrees require 60-70 credits and consist of technical studies, general studies and some electives. Complete your degree in as little as two years, or attend part-time to fit your schedule. Some or all credits may be applied toward a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year college.
Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS)
Complete one of our programs, then seamlessly transfer to a four-year college or university with junior status. There’s also the opportunity to take a semester or two of courses while exploring a career path. Then you can springboard into one of Moraine Park’s applied science associate degrees, such as business, computer science, health, manufacturing and other areas.
TECHNICAL DIPLOMA (TD)
Technical Diploma programs help you prepare for a targeted occupation, typically at an entry level. Credit requirements range from 2-70 credits, and many programs offer full- and part-time options. Some credits may be applied to associate of applied science degree programs.
Apprenticeships are an earn-while-you-learn program of on-the-job training combined with related classroom instruction for a skilled trade. Both the employer and the apprentice must be contracted with the Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards in order to begin the program. You may find more information on how to apply to any of MPTC’s apprenticeship programs by visiting the Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards website or by calling 608-266-3332.
Certificate programs include a focused set of courses for skills required in the workplace. Some credits may apply to associate of applied science degree or technical diploma programs or to a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year college.
