Moraine Park Technical College is combating the skilled worker shortage by launching manufacturing skills academies in a series of 15-week boot camps. The College uses grant funds to provide specific training necessary to create job opportunities at partnering businesses including Amerequip Corporation, Brenner Tank/Wabash, Apache Stainless, and Mayville Engineering Company Inc. (MEC). This boot camp will provide essential skills to last a lifetime.
Skills developed will provide experience in:
- Performing basic welding processes
- Interpreting blueprints
- Applying welding symbols
- Operation and set up of equipment

There is no charge for tuition. However, a $30 program admission fee is required upon admittance into the boot camp.

- DVR-Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

Boot Camp Criteria
Basic requirements include: people who are currently unemployed, people not currently employed as a welder, or people employed in a field unrelated to welding.
Individuals interested in participating are required to attend an information and testing session.
