Welding Boot Camp

Moraine Park is combating the skilled worker shortage by launching manufacturing skills academies in a series of 15-week boot camps. A consortium of partnering businesses including Wabash Brenner Tank, Apache Stainless, Generac Power Systems and Maysteel Industries are providing this unique training opportunity to potential candidates. Participants will gain entry-level skills in this exciting and growing field, while allowing them to earn credits toward a degree. In addition to skill development, the program includes a paid internship to get hands-on experience that will hopefully lead to a job offer plus a $500 student stipend to assist with expenses. Fees

There is no charge for tuition. However, a $30 program admission fee is required upon admittance into the boot camp.

Boot Camp Criteria

Anyone can apply to participate in boot camps. Individuals must attend an information and testing session and are required to attain minimum scores in Reading and Math on the Accuplacer as well as take a series of Mechanical Aptitude tests for the participating businesses.
