I have spent the last four years at Moraine Park Technical College fulfilling a dream to earn a college degree. Through my time at Moraine Park, I have earned my Associate Degree of Applied Science IT-Web Development and Design Specialist. With earning my degree, I have learned many skills to be a web developer/designer. I have had classes where I have learned about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress. Through these classes, I learned about other important web developer skills such as SEO, accessibility, responsive design, and analyzing a client’s needs, target audience, and competitors.
In addition to those core web development classes, I have had other classes that have rounded out my skills such as an e-Commerce class to learn about online business models and web stores. I learned the importance design plays when building websites through a design fundamentals class, a website design class, and an Adobe Photoshop class. These design-centered classes showed me the importance of having a design process to turn ideas into visually appealing websites.
This has been a rewarding process for me. I have always wanted a job working with computers because I have enjoyed playing with them and learning about them in my free time. I know after I graduate that my learning is not done, and I will have to continue to develop and expand my skills. I am eager to find a job in my new career field that can challenge me to be a better web developer and designer.

Hello, my name is Noah Hanson, and I’ve been on a web development journey for the past three years. Over this time—two of which I’ve spent at Moraine Park Technical College—I’ve built a growing portfolio of responsive websites focused on clean, accessible, and user-friendly design. The Web Developer/Designer program at Moraine Park has equipped me with a strong foundation in both development and design, and I’m proud to be graduating this spring with an Associate degree. I’m excited to continue growing in this field and look forward to connecting with industry professionals and exploring new opportunities to apply my skills.

From the beginning of my academic journey, I knew I wanted to pursue a path that challenged both my creativity and technical skills. That’s why I chose a dual-degree program in Information Technology—Web Development and Creative Specialist, allowing me to merge analytical problem-solving with artistic design. This unique blend has shaped me into a versatile digital creator, capable of developing visually compelling websites and innovative digital experiences.
Throughout my studies, I’ve honed my skills in coding languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while mastering the artistry of digital design using Adobe Creative Suite. Whether crafting intuitive user interfaces or enhancing branding through thoughtful visuals, I thrive in the intersection of logic and creativity.
Beyond the coursework, I’ve built a portfolio that showcases my ability to blend functionality with beauty. Every project has reinforced my passion for translating ideas into engaging, interactive experiences. As I step into the professional world, I’m eager to contribute my expertise to projects that merge technology and design, creating digital solutions that captivate and connect with audiences.

Back in high school, I wasn’t entirely sure on what I was going to do with my life. When sophomore year rolled around I decided to take a class that was specifically dedicated to web design. Needless to say, I loved it!
During my senior year of high school I was granted a great opportunity. I was able to attend classes at Moraine Park Technical College in replacement of my electives. My school even paid for the classes as well! This allowed me to get an amazing head start into my college career at my final year of high school and to start allowing myself to explore web design with more in-depth aspects.
Currently, I am an intern for a non-profit organization known as the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund. I started back in March of 2024 and have been with them ever since. They are a great organization and I am happy that I was granted the opportunity on working with them. I do fully intend on working for them after I graduate from MPTC as they have done a lot for the community and I am very happy to be apart of that.
