Our campus libraries are located in Fond du Lac, West Bend, and Beaver Dam. MPTC librarians are available to support all patrons, both in person and online. Our libraries provide welcoming spaces for collaboration, studying, and reading, as well as access to online resources and support.

All patrons are welcome! Our libraries are open to students, staff, faculty and community members. Students are welcome to check out library materials, use study rooms, computers and more!
We ask that community patrons bring a valid ID to utilize the books and computers at each campus library.
Please be respectful and courteous of our spaces and other patrons. The library is intended to be a collaborative and quality learning environment for all.
As a student, a library account is created automatically when you register. To check out a book, bring it up to the library circulation desk and provide the librarian with your first and last name. Don’t know where to find a book? Just ask the librarians for assistance.
Community patrons must provide a valid ID in order to create a MPTC Libraries account before checking out books and magazines.
Our library collection is organized by the Library of Congress call number system. You are welcome to search our library catalog under “Our Collection.” Our librarians are happy to help you find anything you may need!
Moraine Park Technical College has an open WiFi network named “mptc.” Patrons should be able to access it on campus from any WiFi enabled device.
Library desktop computers are available to be used by students, faculty and community members. The computers are equipped with Office 365 programs as well as some specialty programs that courses require. Students can print easily from these computers to printers in the library.
Library desktop computers are available to active community library patrons. To access a desktop computer, community patrons must check in with a librarian, who will sign them in using the library’s public user account. To maintain active patron status and continued computer access, this registration form must be completed annually.
At each campus library, we have a limited number of student laptops available for both short-term loans and a full semester checkout period.
All full-term laptops need to be renewed at mid-term. Any overdue laptops will be locked down, and if not returned within a week from the due date, the student will be referred to Student Financial Services for the cost of the laptop.

Study rooms are available for students and MPTC employees, with students taking precedence. Please reserve a study room at the library reservation station or binder. If you have unique study room needs, ask a librarian!

Each library has sign-in sheets available to reserve a study room. Students can reserve study rooms up to two weeks in advance from the current date.
The library study rooms are only for academic work by current MPTC students, staff, and faculty. As a limited resource, they are not available to the general public or for rental use.
Please do not leave valuables behind in study rooms; the library is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Library Policies
- Library borrowing privileges are available to MPTC students, employees, and visitors. Patrons must present a valid MPTC ID Number or government-issued photo ID to check out materials.
- The loan period ranges from 1 day up to 4 weeks, depending on the item and its shelving location.
- Reference materials and newspapers are available for in-library use only.
- Patrons will receive overdue notices for items not returned by their due dates. If a library item is overdue for a month, it is considered nonreturned and the patron will be billed for the cost of the item. Students with billed items are then referred to Student Financial Services for a replacement fine.
- MPTC libraries do NOT charge overdue fines. The only cost incurred for library items would be for nonreturned or damaged materials.
Students can checkout laptops from any campus library for the semester or for short-term use (less than a week).
A Laptop Agreement Form must be completed each semester for laptop checkouts.
Overdue laptops will be locked at 1 day overdue, and students will be billed for the laptop and referred to Student Financial Services for any laptops 1 week overdue.
Visitors must show a valid ID and complete our Community Patron Agreement Form at the circulation desk. This form is valid for one year and must be re-submitted annually. Community patrons are welcome to use our library desktop computers, if they are available.
To ensure safety for all, children under the age of 16 who are not enrolled in a MPTC program must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Those bringing children to our campus libraries are fully responsible for their supervision and conduct.
