Infant / Toddler Credential Certificate
Earn a credential to care for children ages birth to three with the Infant/Toddler Credential certificate.
The Infant/Toddler Credential certificate is a 4-course program designed for early childhood professionals who want to deepen their understanding and skills in caring for infants and toddlers. This certificate focuses on children ages birth to three. Emphasis is placed on relationship development, guiding behaviors and preparing activities.
NOTE: The Infant/Toddler Credential Certificate is offered on alternate school years. The school years 2027-2028 and 2029-2030 will be the next offerings of the Infant/Toddler Credential Certificate. To help you plan your schedule, please note the following:
These two of the four courses are offered every school year.
307-151 Infant & Toddler Development
307-195 Family and Community Relationships
These courses are offered only during school years that begin with an even number (e.g., 2026–2027, 2028–2029, etc.).
307-169 Infant & Toddler Group Care
307-115 Infant & Toddler Capstone
Students in the Infant/Toddler Credential program gain knowledge of the mental, physical and emotional development of infants and toddlers. They focus on building family relationships, guiding behaviors and being sensitive to the needs of children of young ages. Students gain hands-on knowledge by participating in a practicum field placement.
Students are required to prepare a portfolio at the end of this course. Students will then submit the portfolio to the instructor, who will award the certificate. Students may also apply to the Wisconsin Registry for the Wisconsin Professional Credential for Infant/Toddler Caregivers.
Scholarships for the Infant/Toddler Credential Certificate are available through the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) T.E.A.C.H. program.
