Student Clubs

Moraine Park offers many opportunities for students to expand their learning outside of the classroom. Club members organize events, coordinate fundraisers, complete community service activities and attend conferences and competitions. Numerous student-driven clubs are available in program and non-program areas every year. For more information on a specific club, click on the links below.

Each year, the CNC/Tool & Die Club brings industry speakers to campus for students to learn from and network. In addition they participate in the Chicago and Milwaukee Tool Shows and offer students the chance to compete against CNC students from across the state at the Skills USA competition.

Cosmetology Club is open to all cosmetology students interested in becoming involved with their community. Club members also have the opportunity to travel to Chicago to attend one of the largest national hair shows.

Fond du Lac Campus Club Advisor: Eileen Bouchard

The Criminal Justice Club is comprised of students in the program who have a vested interest in becoming a better part of their school and involvement in community activities. Student membership includes the American Correctional Association Membership (ACA), which governs the Wisconsin Correctional Association (WCA) and are eligible to its benefits. Club members engage in networking with professionals, conferences, and educational opportunities which are encouraging and supportive to personal growth.

The Culinary Arts club is an active group that holds a limited number of major fund raisers to help culinary students pay for educational trips at the end of each year. It also donates goods and proceeds to campus and local organizations as a part of its mission as an MPTC student club.

The Donut Club is a community service organization. Each semester, the club members select a local population in need and engage in community service activities that will serve that population. The club also participates in service activities organized by Student Life on the Beaver Dam campus. The club meets monthly during the school year and, of course, enjoys donuts at our meetings!

The Electricity Club offers students the chance to compete against students in Electricity from across the state and nation in Skills USA. In 2016, an Electricity student from MPTC placed 1st in the National Skills USA Industrial Motor Control Competition.

Be creative and collaborate with other members on outside projects such as:
graphics, video shoots and editing for local community organizations

Facilitate fun on campus fundraising events like: poster raffles, Halloween pumpkin designs and costume contests, bake sales, and more.

The IT Club provides social and educational opportunities for students to expand their skills in the Information Technology field. Students explore the IT career field at local and regional conferences and seminars, promote opportunities for professional development & networking, and participate in community service initiatives.

The club is comprised of students in the following programs: IT Network Specialist, IT Tech Support, IT Mobile Applications Developer, IT  Software Developer, IT Web Development and Design Specialist.

The Medical Laboratory Technician Club (MLT Club) is comprised of students in the program who have a vested interest in medical laboratory science, becoming a better part of their school and involvement in community activities. Student membership includes regular meetings, luncheons, assistance with conference registration and associated fees for the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Scientists’ Annual Wisconsin Convention (ASCLS-WI). ASCLS-WI is one of the professional support groups for laboratory science. Attendance at this conference promotes networking opportunities and updates on the latest laboratory trends.

Phi Theta Kappa is an internationally recognized honor’s society of two-year colleges based on academic merit. Phi Theta Kappa members engage in the development of leadership skills, community and college service opportunities, and network with other scholars. Scholarship opportunities are a hallmark of Phi Theta Kappa, offering eligible members financial assistance with degree completion.

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) club is open to all Moraine Park students but is most often made up of students from the Engineering Technician programs. The club’s purpose is to encourage education related to manufacturing; promote manufacturing and engineering as a career; and serve the greater good of the College and local community. Each year, the club does a number of tours and field trips, hosts technical speakers, and participates in some community service projects.

Student Nurses Association is an opportunity for students in all semesters to make connections, find resources and be successful within the nursing program. Students are offered support throughout their semesters of nursing school from other students and nursing faculty; in addition being a member of SNA is beneficial while seeking jobs at time of graduation. Joining SNA is a wonderful opportunity to meet other nursing students and collaborate with alumni; work together on community service projects; and develop leadership skills. Come join us!

The Student Veterans of America (SVA) Club is open to veterans, and those currently serving, as well as students, faculty, staff, family members and supporters of individuals who have served or currently serving.

The club’s purpose is to support, serve and advocate for military connected students and their families and is a great way to get involved on campus and within the community. The club provides a continued sense of camaraderie among service-members, and is an excellent means for military connected students to immediately connect with others who have already had the experience or challenge of transitioning into college.

So, come and check out the SVA and be heard.
