The Goal

Unlock Your Potential with Hands-On Skills That Pay Off

Are you ready to turn your passion into a powerful career? Technical colleges offer a direct path to high-demand, high-paying jobs in fields like welding, automotive tech, manufacturing technology, IT, and more—without the long haul of a four-year degree. Whether you’re looking to build, fix, code, or create, a technical education gives you the tools to start strong and earn fast. Tech is the future, and it’s calling your name. Join thousands of young men across the country who are choosing skill, speed, and success. Tech is now. Your future starts here.

The Payoff

Fast Track to a Great Paycheck

One of the biggest advantages of technical colleges is how quickly you can get from the classroom to a solid paycheck. Most programs take two years or less, which means you spend less time in school and start earning sooner. Many skilled trades—like electrical work, HVAC, machining, and diesel tech—offer starting salaries between $45,000 and $60,000, with experienced professionals easily making $80,000 or more. In many cases, you can be earning while you’re still training through apprenticeships and paid internships.

Jobs That Are in Demand—and Here to Stay

Tech is rising. Skilled trades and technical careers are more important than ever, and the demand keeps growing. As older workers retire and industries expand, companies are searching for reliable, trained professionals to step up. Tech is opportunity, and technical colleges connect you with real-world training, certifications, and job placement support that give you a clear advantage in today’s job market. For people who want stability, independence, and the chance to build something real, this is more than a smart move—Tech is a powerful investment in your future.

The Dream

Build a Life You Can Be Proud Of

Choosing a technical career isn’t just a smart financial move—it’s a powerful way to step up and take charge of your future. These are the jobs that keep the world running: fixing engines, wiring buildings, programming systems, making things work when they matter most. They demand focus, grit, and pride in a job well done. For people looking to prove themselves, provide for others, and live with purpose, there’s nothing more impressive than mastering a skill, getting your hands dirty, and building something that lasts. This is real work. Real respect. And it all starts with a decision to move forward.

Student Stories

Ryan Riley

Ryan Riley – Electrical Power Distribution

Thirteen years after earning his first degree from Moraine Park, Ryan Riley walked the stage once again, this time as a husband, father and the 2022 Student of the Year.

After graduation, he was eager to start his next chapter, but the excitement was short-lived. At the time, the housing market was crashing and the economy was in a recession, which made finding employment difficult.

“I spent the next decade trying out different jobs,” Riley said. “I worked inside, outside, in a factory, in construction for small family businesses and for large corporations. Eventually, after several failed attempts at finding my place and some careful planning, I decided to get on the waitlist for the Electrical Power Distribution (EPD) program at Moraine Park.”

Christian - MPTC Automotive Student

Christian Palomera – Automotive

Christian Palomera, an Automotive Technician student, is leveling up his career by earning his associate degree from Moraine Park this spring. After graduation, he will be promoted from lube technician to class-c auto technician at Summit Automotive Ford in Beaver Dam.

“I have always liked working on cars and taking things apart and putting them back together,” Palomera said. “There is always something new to learn, and no day is the same.”

Palomera has worked at Summit Automotive in Beaver Dam as a lube technician for 10 months. His promotion to class-c automotive technician grows his potential by allowing him to explore different kinds of work on the cars, including diagnosing and working as a mobile technician.

Moraine Park student Declan O’Connor

Declan O’Connor – Start College Now

Declan O’Connor, a member of the Fond du Lac High School Class of 2025, is well on his way to launching a career in steam-fitting thanks to Moraine Park’s dual enrollment programs. Through his participation in Moraine Park’s Start College Now program and the Robotics, Engineering and Manufacturing (REM) Academy, O’Connor has earned 19 college credits before his high school graduation next spring.

By May 2025, O’Connor has completed Moraine Park’s Manufacturing Fundamentals Certificate and Automated Manufacturing Technician Technical Diploma.

“When a family friend told me about Start College Now and the REM Academy, I was excited by the idea of taking college courses outside of high school that would give me a head start on my future,” O’Connor said. “Classes like blueprint reading and welding are exactly what I need to prepare for my career, and they’re making a real difference in my confidence and skills.”
