Celebrating Leadership and Excellence: PTK Students Honored at MPTC

PTK/AHS Spring Celebration - FDL - April 2025

Moraine Park Technical College honored 198 students for their academic achievements as members and graduates of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and the College’s Academic Honor Society. The celebration recognized inductees and graduates across all Moraine Park’s campuses on April 25.

Students received honor cords to wear at Moraine Park’s spring commencement ceremony on May 17.

“I am truly honored to celebrate this wonderful milestone with the students,” Amy Harmsen, Academic Honors Advisor at Moraine Park, said. “Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence have rightfully earned them a place in this honor society. Each of them has shown remarkable character and academic achievement, and I couldn’t be more proud. It has been a privilege to support them on this journey, and I have no doubt that this is just the beginning of many future successes!”

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is the largest honor society for two-year colleges. Membership in both PTK and Moraine Park’s Academic Honor Society is open to those who have completed at least 12 credits toward an associate degree or 6 credits toward a technical diploma and earned a GPA of 3.5 or above.

In addition to the honor society celebration, five Moraine Park PTK Beta Mu Kappa students were recently named to the 2025 PTK All-Wisconsin Academic Team. These students were selected by the College for their academic excellence and leadership. Each will receive a medallion and certificate of distinction in recognition of their accomplishments.

Congratulations to Moraine Park’s 2025 All-Wisconsin Academic Team members:

  • Molly Atinkson, Fond du Lac
  • Jayden Erdmann, Wild Rose
  • Nate Minnig, Beaver Dam
  • Tianna Schneider, Fond du Lac
  • Holly Schultz, Columbus

Moraine Park’s PTK Beta Mu Kappa students who applied for the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation are eligible for consideration. The College can select up to two students per campus per pathway to move forward in the selection process.
