High school students don’t have to wait until graduation to start earning college credit. Through Moraine Park’s dual enrollment programs, students can explore career interests, gain college experience and get a head start on their education—often at no cost to their families.
The Start College Now program gives eligible 11th and 12th grade students attending Wisconsin public high schools the opportunity to take college-level courses at Moraine Park while earning both high school and college credit.
The student’s school district covers 100% of tuition, fees, required textbooks and course materials. Students should note that they may be responsible for reimbursing the school district for those costs if they do not successfully complete their courses.
The application deadline for the spring 2027 semester is Oct. 1. Students interested in participating should work with their high school counselor to complete the application and receive approval.
Starting college early can help students explore their options, build confidence in the classroom and make progress toward a future credential or degree before they graduate from high school.
“When a family friend told me about Start College Now and the REM Academy, I was excited by the idea of taking college courses outside of high school that would give me a head start on my future,” Declan O’Connor, Fond du Lac High School graduate, said. “Classes like blueprint reading and welding are exactly what I need to prepare for my career, and they’re making a real difference in my confidence and skills.”
