This week, Moraine Park welcomed retirees back to campus for a retiree luncheon, a special opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues, share memories and celebrate the lasting impact they have had on the College.
Hosted as part of the Moraine Park Foundation’s 50th anniversary celebration, the event brought together approximately 60 attendees and served as a meaningful reminder that Moraine Park’s story is shaped by the people who have dedicated their time, talent and passion to students and communities.
Retirees enjoyed lunch, received commemorative gifts and toured several of Moraine Park’s newest campus spaces, offering a firsthand look at how the College continues to evolve.
The event also highlighted the lasting impact retirees continue to have on students through the Moraine Park Foundation. Retiree Tim Keenan reflected on his career and experiences at Moraine Park and shared why he chose to establish a scholarship through the Foundation. His scholarship recipient, David Beyer, spoke about how scholarships help make his nursing education more affordable and support his path toward a nursing career.
Moraine Park retirees have established nearly 30 annual and endowed scholarships, helping make education more accessible and creating brighter futures for students.
“As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Foundation, we are deeply grateful to our Moraine Park retirees for their years of dedicated service to our students and the lasting impact they have made on our college community,” Dana Bourland, executive director of the Moraine Park Foundation, said. “By creating 29 annual and endowed scholarships, they are helping make education more affordable and opening doors to brighter futures for generations of students.”
