Moraine Park Technical College students brought home six medals from the Skills USA competition in Madison on April 8. The students competed in four different categories: Automated Manufacturing Technology, CNC 2 Axis Turning Programmer, Industrial Motor Controls, and Electrical Construction Wiring.
Moraine Park’s participating students were Declan Cira of West Bend, Landen Dahlke of Fox Lake, Lucas Kern of Slinger, Ian Kolste of Adell, Thomas Rutt Jr. of Fond du Lac, Trent Nelson of Grafton, Eric Sajdak of Muskego, Brady Schaumberg of West Bend, Collin Schaumberg of West Bend, Jacob Stortz of Fond du Lac, Deonte Sutton of West Bend, Memphis Vang of Germantown, and Jack Westerhof of Grafton.
Students who earned first place in the Automated Manufacturing Technology Team competition are Declan Cira, Brady Schaumberg and Collin Schaumberg.
Earning Second place in the CNC 2 Axis Turning Programmer competition is Jacob Stortz.
Moraine Park had a full sweep in the Industrial Motor Controls competition, with Lucas Kern earning first place, Eric Sajdak earning second and Landen Dahlke placing third.
Finally, earning second place in the Electrical Construction Wiring competition is Ian Kolste.
Kern will advance to the Skills USA National Competition held in Atlanta, GA, this June.
