There are exciting developments at Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac Campus that will positively impact nursing professionals and local health care for years to come, and I’m excited to share those with you today.
As a nurse educator, I have had the privilege of working with students as they begin their journey in healthcare—in fact, many of you were once in my classroom, learning, growing and preparing to be the next generation of healthcare professionals.
We are beyond proud of the advanced learning offered here at Moraine Park, but we also identified that our learning spaces were in desperate need of updates to ensure that every student who walks through our doors is prepared to deliver safe, competent and compassionate care in increasingly complex clinical settings.
For this reason, the College included the Health and Human Services wing in its referendum project plan, which will modernize classrooms, labs and simulation spaces to reflect real-world settings found in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and emergency service areas.
Equipment costs were intentionally excluded from the referendum budget to lessen the tax burden on our community. Yet these tools are essential, and without them, the space cannot fully deliver on its promise.
To support this need, the Moraine Park Foundation has launched a $750,000 fundraising campaign to equip the healthcare wing with state-of-the-art technology and equipment—ensuring our students gain the hands-on experience they need to succeed and meet the growing demands of the healthcare workforce.
This is where your support can make a real difference.
As an MPTC alumnus, you likely remember how foundational hands-on learning and simulation experiences were in building your confidence—and, as a healthcare professional, you have witnessed how the needs of the field have advanced over time.
I often tell students that nursing is more than a career; it is a calling, a commitment to lifelong learning and service. With your support, we can ensure that commitment begins with the strongest possible educational foundation.
I hope you’ll consider a donation to support Moraine Park’s nursing students for years to come. In appreciation of your support, you’ll be invited to a special ribbon-cutting celebration for the newly renovated Health and Human Services wing—an opportunity to see firsthand the impact your generosity makes possible.
