Moraine Park Technical College’s Beaver Dam Campus welcomed 26 high school students from 11 local schools to take part in a Health Sciences Career Experience, giving them a hands-on look at in-demand careers in health care.
During the experience, held Feb. 3, students rotated through three interactive classrooms led by Moraine Park instructors. Each session introduced real-world skills used in Medical Assistant, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Nursing programs. From practicing foundational techniques to learning how health care professionals support patients every day, students were immersed in what a future in health sciences could look like.
By opening classrooms and showcasing hands-on learning, Moraine Park continues to help students explore career options, build confidence and envision what’s possible.
Thanks to the participating schools and to SSM Health and their director of surgical and procedural services, Jen Schmitz, who shared her career journey with the participants.
