Moraine Park Celebrates Kewaskum High School Grad

Moraine Park Technical College is celebrating the efforts of recent Kewaskum High School graduate Justin Toth for his extraordinary commitment to his educational and career goals. Toth took advantage of Moraine Park’s dual enrollment offerings and has a jumpstart on his career as an Electrical Power Distribution (EPD) professional, all before graduating high school.

Inspired by his brother Kyle, an EPD professional and MPTC alumni, Toth knew this program was the right direction to achieve his career goals and financial independence. He took advantage of dual enrollment opportunities through Moraine Park’s Start College Now program where he completed five of the 17 required classes.

“I was excited to take classes at MPTC during my senior year of high school. This offered me the opportunity to get a jump start on college,” Toth said.

He also knew that he had to stay on track and apply early. As one of the top ten highest-paying careers for new graduates, the College’s EPD program has a waiting list that can span over a year. Moraine Park’s 2023 graduate report showed a median salary of $83,194. For this reason, he completed his college admissions April of his junior year to ensure he could start immediately following his high school graduation.

In addition to getting his initial courses paid for through Start College Now, Toth received the Technical Excellence Award scholarship, offered through Kewaskum High School.

“Obtaining the scholarship and having the opportunity to earn credits in high school has given me a leg up on achieving my career goals,” he said. “My goal is to become an aerial lineman in Montana where I can also pursue my love of snowboarding and snowmobiling.”

Moraine Park will welcome Toth to the Beaver Dam campus this fall, and he is on track to earn his technical diploma in spring 2025.

Moraine Park offers robust dual enrollment opportunities to high school students throughout the district each year, which include the Start College Now program and dual credit course opportunities. In 2023, district high school students earned nearly 11,000 college credits.
