Moraine Park’s Overall Enrollment Trends Remain Positive

Moraine Park Technical College is continuing to see significant improvements in overall enrollment trends in spring 2024 and looking ahead to the 2024-25 academic year.

In fall 2023, the College announced a 1 percent increase in overall credits enrolled and the highest increase in overall headcount in three years.

Current Growth Areas

  • Overall program enrollment is up over 4 percent, and the growth is expected to remain in fall.  
  • Program student headcount Enrollment number comparison as of February 1:
    • 2023-24 – 3389
    • 2022-23 – 3233
  • High school students in dual credit and Start College Now opportunities have seen the most significant increase.
    • Overall headcount is up by over 40 percent, with unduplicated student headcount at 2970 compared to 2075 last year as of February
    • The number of overall credits earned by high school students has increased by over 50 percent with the total number of credits earned at 11,550 compared to 7,569 this time last year.
  • Over $3.2 million in financial aid was distributed for spring 2024, with a majority as financial gifts (scholarships or grants).
    • $2,213,533 in gift aid
    • $1,063,006 in loans
  • Enrollment in Moraine Park’s Associate of Arts/Associate of Science (AA/AS)/University Transfer agreements has tripled since last year.
  • Moraine Park’s instruction in the areas of business and entrepreneurship within the Department of Corrections (DOC) has seen an increase in unduplicated headcounts of over 40 percent.
