MPTC Nursing Students at the Capitol

MPTC nursing students at the WI State Capital

Moraine Park nursing students and faculty members joined more than 1,100 nurses and nursing students from across Wisconsin at the annual Nurses Day at the Capitol on February 25, sponsored by the Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA).

The morning session, held at the Monona Terrace, included an overview of WNA’s legislative priorities, tips for communicating effectively with legislators, and insights into why nursing’s voice in the legislature matters. In the afternoon, participants visited the State Capitol, where they met with state assembly members, Representatives Jerry O’Connor (R-Fond du Lac) and Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger), to discuss national and state health policy issues affecting nursing practice, education, and health care delivery.

We are proud of our students and faculty for prioritizing advocacy as part of their educational experience at the College and appreciate WNA for providing them the opportunity to learn, share, and grow.
