Moraine Park Celebrates Spring 2025 Apprenticeship Completers

Moraine Park Technical College is celebrating its Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Construction Electrician and Tool and Die Technologies apprentices who successfully completed their four-year training. The groups were recognized throughout early May at the Fond du Lac and West Bend Campuses.

ABC Construction Electrician apprentices spend four years working alongside journeyman electricians in the field to practice and learn electrical skills. They work on actual job sites to assemble, wire, and install electrical systems that operate heating, lighting, power, air conditioning, and refrigeration components. They also work with electrical machinery, electronic equipment, and controls. Graduates of the program are prepared to install electrical piping, interpret blueprints, and understand OSHA and the National Electric Code. They will also know how to utilize tools of the electrical trade and test circuits to ensure safety and compatibility.

Moraine Park Apprenticeships are different from the College’s standard academic programming because apprentices are both students and employees sponsored by local employers, employer associations, or labor groups. This means MPTC apprentices are paid employees during the entirety of their training. As a bonus, many apprentices complete their programs with full-time employment already secured within the MPTC district.

Apprenticeships are excellent opportunities for individuals to explore new career pathways, gain valuable skills and maintain a steady income.
