Bob Lloyd of Lomira was sworn in Wednesday, Nov. 16, as the newest member of the Moraine Park Technical College District Board.
He will serve as Moraine Park’s School District Administrator Member, with a term expiring in June 2018.
Lloyd is currently the superintendent of Lomira School District – a position he has held since 2012. Before that, he served as Lomira’s 4K-8 principal from 2003 to 2011.
“We are thrilled to have Bob join our District Board,” said Bonnie Baerwald, president of Moraine Park. “His extensive insight and knowledge in education will be beneficial to our students and community.”
Lloyd graduated high school at Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in 1999 and master’s degrees in 1992 at Marian University. He earned his superintendent licensure at Cardinal Stritch University in 2009.
Lloyd currently serves on various other boards in both community and education settings, including the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA), the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), the Board of Directors of the Lomira Lions Club and more.
He grew up on a dairy farm east of Fond du Lac in a large family with 13 children, and said this perspective will serve him well on Moraine Park’s District Board.
“My background in farming gives me a different perspective on the importance of technical education and that drew me to this position,” Lloyd said, noting he hopes his time with Moraine Park’s district board brings wide-ranging benefits to students at all levels.
“I’m just excited for this opportunity, to learn more about technical education and to show those benefits to our students, in Lomira, and in general. It’s an avenue of education that has generated a lot of interest in recent years, with the ability to get a quality, high-paying job with a lot less debt than a four-year college, so that has a lot of appeal,” Lloyd said.
Lloyd was sworn in as Moraine Park’s School District Administrator Member at the beginning of Wednesday’s board meeting, held this month at the College’s Beaver Dam campus.
