SUMMARY:WB: Bill Deering: Overcoming Obstacles with Lunch
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Disability Resources\, we are excited to bring motivational speaker\, Bill Deering to MPTC to talk about “Overcoming Obstacles” during National Disability Awareness Month.   Lunch will be provided after his talk. \nBill Deering was often picked-on for his stuttering.  As a teenager he felt he had no friends\, was gaining weight\, and was failing almost all of his classes.  The summer before his junior year of high school\, Bill went out for the football team.  He finally felt accepted and included and no one laughed at him.  He made friends\, lost weight\, improved his grades\, and felt that being a part of a team\, receiving support and encouragement\, he could achieve anything.  Eventually he discovered that he could achieve great things without being stopped by his fear of stuttering. \nCome and listen to Bill’s story and enjoy food and fellowship. \nIf you’re interested\, please RSVP to Sandy Botham at sbotham@morainepark.edu or (262)335-5743 by Friday\, October 8th\, \nFor more information on Bill’s story\, please visit: https://billdeering.net/about-bill-deering/ \nSponsored by West Bend Student Senate and Disability Resources
