SUMMARY:Tunnel of Oppression
DESCRIPTION:MPTC’s Diversity Relations team presents the Tunnel of Oppression\, an interactive\, multi-sensory exhibit experience highlighting modern-day oppression. Participants will take a self-guided tour through a series of scenes exploring some of society’s most complex and difficult issues such as racism\, homelessness\, ableism\, violence\, and more. The displays will provide insight into the realities of oppression\, power\, and privilege; invite empathy for individuals in a wide variety of life situations; and challenge visitors to reflect on their own biases and think more deeply about issues of oppression. \nThe Tunnel experience will be located in the FDL Campus Conference Center rooms A & B. Visitors will have the opportunity to reflect and process the experience at the end of the tour in Conference Room C or in nearby rooms O-112 and O-113. \nThe event is open to all\, including staff\, students\, and the general public. Convenient parking is available in Lot C\, and the recommended entrance is Door O-2. \nThe exhibit will be open to visitors:\nMonday\, April 15\, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.\, with a special Community Night from 4:00-6:00 p.m.\nTues\, Wed\, Thurs\, April 16-18\, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.\nFriday\, April 19\, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. \nTrigger Warning: Please note that this exhibit contains information\, images\, and sounds related to sensitive topics including violence\, sexual assault\, abuse\, and other forms of trauma which may be triggering to some individuals.

DESCRIPTION:Keziah Love is a spoken-word artist\, motivational speaker\, CEO\, mentor\, and advocate. Born and raised in Milwaukee\, Keziah is a survivor of sexual assault and domestic violence\, and uses her story and experiences to share her message that your past doesn’t dictate the outcome of your future. She is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma and founded the non-profit Healing Scars to support\, empower\, and help heal women who have experienced trauma. \nThe event is located at the Fond du Lac Campus cafeteria and will be live streamed to the Beaver Dam and West Bend campus cafeterias. \nFree lunch for all current MPTC students and employees who attend the event\, on each campus!
