Upward Bound Video

Upward Bound is a TRIO pre-college program of the US Department of Education. It is a federally-funded grant hosted by Moraine Park Technical College. The program serves three area high schools including Beaver Dam, Ripon and Fond du Lac.  Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac campus is the home base for the program.

Upward Bound is for students who have completed 8th grade, but not yet completed 11th grade. You must be able to maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and be taking college prep high school classes.  You should have the desire to go to college. Eligibility is based on your family income and parents’ education level.

Trio

Upward Bound requires:

  • Weekly meetings at your high school running September –May, plus occasional Saturday workshops
  •  A 6-week summer session at the Fond du Lac campus

The summer session prepares you for the year ahead. It is not remedial. College prep high school classes are taught by high school teachers. Field trips and college tours are part of the summer session. The last week is held at Marian University. We live in the dorms on campus and attend classes there.
