National Trade Data Bank (STAT-USA)
The Globus and NTDB (National Trade Data Bank) portions of STAT-USA provide access to International Marketing Insight Reports, Country Commercial Guides, and Best Market Reports. The NTDB also provides U.S. import and export statistics, as well as over 75 other reports.

The three National Trade Data Bank reports described below are very useful in locating market and country information.
International Marketing Insight (IMI) Reports
Information can be accessed by subject country, by date or by industry. Topics include investment climate, market briefs for a particular industry, economic profiles of a specific region of a given country, and listings for upcoming trade fairs.
Best Market Reports
Best Market Reports (BMRs) are snapshots of a given market segment (or in some cases, closely related market segments) as they are described by U.S. Commercial Service and U.S. Department of State officials stationed overseas. These brief reports are taken from much longer reports submitted by all of the larger and most of the smaller embassies as part of their annual reporting duties. Posts are requested to describe the best market segments for U.S. exporters; those sections are separated out by market and presented here.
Country Commercial Guides
Country Commercial Guides present a comprehensive look at a particular country’s commercial environment using economic, political, and market analysis. The Country Commercial Guides were established by recommendation of the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee to consolidate various reporting documents prepared for the U.S. business community. Country Commercial Guides are prepared annually at U.S. Embassies through the combined efforts of several U.S. government agencies.

Country Commercial Guides

Country Studies: Area Handbook

This website contains the on-line versions of books previously published in hard copy by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Army. At present, 102 countries and regions are covered. Notable omissions include Canada, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and other Western nations, as well as a number of African nations. These guides are in the process of being revised.
