Working Conditions

Construction electricians require moderate to high levels of physical strength. They must frequently stand for long periods and work in cramped or uncomfortable positions. Since much of their work is indoors, electricians are less exposed to inclement weather than most other construction workers. They must also have good color vision and the ability to climb.

Tools and Equipment 

The apprentice is expected to purchase such tools ordinarily used and purchased by journeymen so that, at the completion of the third year, they will be in possession of a complete set of tools.
