Steamfitting Service Apprenticeship

Five Years (consisting of four years schooling)
Campus: at the Training Center, Appleton

Steamfitting service mechanics adapt and repair pipe systems; install appliances, heating and refrigeration units; and weld pipes. They troubleshoot, diagnose and repair components of heating and cooling systems and refrigeration units. System controls and diagnostic procedures are emphasized.

Application Requirements

Applicants should be 18 years of age and submit: (1) apprentice application; (2) medical questionnaire; (3) copy of birth certificate; (4) copy of high school diploma or equivalency certificate; (5) copy of military transfer or discharge, if applicable; (6) copy of valid driver's license; and (7) copy of ACCUPLACER test results. All applicants are required to pass a physical examination as prescribed by the local JATC.
