Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT)

Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technology is concerned with recording and studying the electrical activity of the brain. The END technician works in close association with physicians trained in neurological diseases and disorders. Their primary responsibilities include taking END histories; operating END equipment; performing pattern recognition of evoked recordings; conducting sleep disorder studies; managing laboratory and patient care and performance maintenance of equipment. The curriculum is comprised of neurodiagnostic science courses, technical support courses, general studies courses and elective courses. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to write the American Board of Registered EEG Technologists examination. Most END technicians are employed by large acute care hospitals and ambulatory clinics that provide diagnostic services. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in cooperation with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (representing the American Medical EEG Association and the American Society of EEG Technologists).
