Financial Aid Brochure

Program, Tuition and Materials Fees:
The program fees for 2008-2009 are $97.05 per credit for state residents. Out-of-state residents are charged an additional $497.20 per credit for nonresident tuition.

Special Fees
Included in this area are: supplemental fees, graduation fees, liability insurance, uniform service, testing fees, and other miscellaneous fees charged for a specific program.  These fees are assessed as prescribed by Moraine Park policy.  Admission, testing and background check fees (if required) are not included.

Books/Materials
This includes books and materials costs required of students who register for specific classes according to their regular curriculum schedule.  Costs in this area, especially, may vary due to fluctuation costs of books and specific instructor requirements. Examples are items such as tool kit and mannequin required in Barber/Cosmetologist, kitchen knives required in the foods programs, tool kit rental and deposit, and specific materials such as safety equipment required in certain programs.

Refund Policy
It is the student¹s responsibility to request a refund of fees paid by completing a Drop form from the Registration Office. A student who applies for a refund before the first day of class will receive a 100 percent refund. In cases of complete withdrawal, the percentage of financial aid monies that must be returned is based on a federal refund until 60 percent of the enrollment period has passed. If a student withdraws from school, the Financial Aid Office must be notified. If financial aid was over-awarded, the excess may need to be returned. Partial withdrawals after receipt of aid may not affect the aid initially calculated; however, it will adversely affect the student¹s satisfactory progress. If a student applies for a refund before or at the time 10% of the course's potential hours of instruction have been completed, 80% of student fees will be refunded.  If a student applies for a refund after 10% but before more than 20% of the course's potential hours of instruction have been completed, 60% of student fees will be refunded.  If a student applies for a refund after 20% of the course's potential hours of instruction have been completed, 0% of students fees will be refunded. For less-than-semester classes, see the registration materials for more information.
