Inclement Weather School Closings
Beaver Dam Fond du Lac West Bend
It is that time of the year when staff/students should be aware of the methods by which they can obtain information about Moraine Park school closings in the event of inclement weather. For your convenience, the following information is provided.
Moraine Park has four methods to notify students, staff, and the general public when school is closed due to inclement weather. The four methods are as follows:
1. Call one of Moraine Park’s Weather Emergency phone numbers as follows:
| Beaver Dam |
|
920-887-4555 |
| Fond du Lac |
|
920-924-6600 |
| West Bend |
|
262-335-6000 |
If school is closed, a message will be recorded on these phone numbers stating that school is closed.
These weather emergency phone numbers are published in both the “white” and “yellow” pages of the MORAINE PARK listing in the Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, and West Bend public phone directories.
2. Check Moraine Park’s website at www.morainepark.edu
3. Call any of Moraine Park’s main campus phone numbers (920) 922-8611,
(920) 887-1101, (262) 334-3413 or any of the direct seven-digit phone numbers. If school is closed, Moraine Park will record an outgoing message on all of these phone lines indicating that school is closed.
4. Listen to radio stations WFDL Sunny 97.7 FM and KFIZ AM 1450/K107.1 FM (Fond du Lac), WBEV 1430 AM (Beaver Dam), and WBKV 1470 AM/92.5 FM (West Bend) or watch TV Stations: WTMJ-TV (Channel 4), WBAY-TV (Channel 2), WISC-TV (Channel 3).
NOTE: Although MPTC attempts to notify the majority of radio stations in the surrounding area, we cannot contact every one of them.
Notifications to the radio stations and programming of messages on the outgoing campus phone numbers and weather emergency phone numbers will be made by approximately 5:30 am and will affect all campuses. If the college closes for the day, evening classes will also be cancelled.
When school is closed, staff/students shall leave the facility.
Faculty should communicate their expectations to students when school is not closed and weather conditions are questionable.
Staff have emergency or personal days available for their use when weather in their area is unfavorable to travel when school is open. Please refer to the respective Bargaining Agreement or District Policy regarding the days available for use.
