Use the following databases to find articles from journals and newspapers related to college teaching and instruction. You may use similar keywords terms as suggested for searching the MPTC Catalog.

EBSCOhostWeb
Many of the databases listed here will have information on education and teaching, but good ones to start with include: Academic Search Elite, MasterFILEPremier, ERIC, and/or the Professional Development Collection.

Health Reference Center Academic
HRC Academic includes full text articles on health-related educational topics.

Highwire Press
Highwire Press is an enterprise of Stanford University. Highwire Press partners with scholarly societies, university presses and publishers to create a collection of fully searchable scholarly and clinical literature online, much of which is free full text.

WilsonWeb
Wilson Web contains full text articles from over 1,750 publications, and includes educational topics.

The Educator’s Reference Desk

This site, maintained by the Information Institute of Syracuse contains an excellent listing of websites, organizations and online communities on educational topics. A good area for college teachers to navigate to from the home page: Educational Levels—Higher Education. This site also includes links to ERIC (see below) and GEMS (Gateway to Educational Materials), a gateway for accessing over 40,000 educational resources.

The Applied Math and Science Education Repository contains free online resources for the classroom, and it’s directed at community and technical college instructors.

ECB: Educational Communications Board

This site offers over 1000 multimedia resources which Wisconsin educators may use in their classroom(s). Sign up for the teachers’ domain, which includes classroom-ready resources, and check out their excellent list of recommended websites.

Registration is open to all WTCS employees—search for competencies, classroom activities, online teaching and learning tools and more.

Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) System-attic

This is the local website of the WTCS office and it contains information for WTCS internal administration, staff and faculty. This off-shoot of the WTCS.edu site should be faster with less web traffic.
