Temporary Assistant 3 - Upward Bound Summer Session Teaching Aide
Upward Bound is a pre-college program for motivated high school students designed to build academic skills and self-confidence. The program will hold a six week Summer Session at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac campus, for 60 students in grades 9, 10 and 11. They will focus on a college preparatory course program. The students in the program come from low income and/or first generation homes where neither parent holds a college degree.
Current college students are needed to serve as teaching aides during Summer Session from June 14 - July 22, 2010. The hours are 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Field trips will occur on Fridays and the schedule will vary. There is a one-week residential dorm experience at Marian University during the last week.
Characteristic Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teacher with preparations and provide tutoring as needed.
- Assist with enrichment class. Lead some projects.
- Serve as a tutor in algebra, geometry, science or English composition.
- Serve as a chaperone during dorm week.
- Assist with supervision during the class day.
- Assist with supervision on field trips.
- Attend mandatory orientation session (to be scheduled).
Qualifications:
- Current college student; freshman year completed.
- Experience working with youth preferred.

Temporary Housekeeper – Evenings, Beaver Dam Campus
Hours: Monday through Thursday 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; Friday 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Available: immediately
Hourly Rate: $8.75/hour
This position performs routine custodial duties throughout the building, and other cleaning as needed. Previous cleaning experience a plus.

The primary function of this position is to perform a variety of administrative and technical activities that provide office support and back-up to the West Bend campus College Relations and Enrollment Management department. The hours of these positions are sporadic, as needed and may vary from week to week. Temporary employees must work less than 600 hours year.
Characteristic Duties / Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate data entry of student prospect information into college system.
- Provide customer service to students, staff and the general public by responding to basic questions on the telephone and in person.
- Schedule appointments and operate office equipment such as copy and fax machines.
Qualifications/Training/Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of basic office procedures and equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- The ability to type 40 wpm.
- The ability to organize, plan and prioritize responsibilities, with interruptions and limited supervision.

Information Technology Intern - Resource Development Dept., Fond du Lac Campus

This position's hours are flexible between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., for a total of 15 - 20 hours per week for three to six months. Temporary employees must work less than 600 hours year.
Characteristic Duties / Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and suggest improvements to increase the accessibility and usability of the intranet website.
- Perform site maintenance including link checking, code and accessibility and validation and content updating.
- Create site maintenance documentation.
- Provide training on content updating to Administrative Assistant - Resource Development.
- Work with Resource Development staff to create an information architecture for data storage on the structure and conventions to use for storage of electronic data that is part of the intranet website.
- Create design prototype, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content for web sites.
Qualifications/Training/Experience:
- A student earning college credit for this internship, in their last semester of an information technology related program.
- Proficient in the use of Dream Weaver and PhotoShop to create pages and update content on pages.
- Ability to read and write code: DHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP.
- Understanding of screen/graphics resolution, image compression, typography, web ready content and basic graphic design principles.
- Knowledge and experience in website workflow and documentation process.
Hourly Rate: $6.50
