Wireless is Here!
 |
Moraine Park’s wireless network is now open to all students and the college community guests who have a wireless device. Most devices should auto-detect the wireless network settings; however, if it does not, set the wireless card to "Infrastructure" or "Access Point" mode, and set the SSID or Network Name to mptc (case sensitive –all lower case).
NOTE: By using the wireless network everyone is bound by the Acceptable Use Policies.
At this time the college’s Information Technology department cannot support any personal devices used to access the wireless network.
If students need assistance in getting connected, they can contact the Moraine Park Computer Clinic at 920-924-6346 or computerclinic@morainepark.edu for paid support.
Using the “mptc” SSID or Network Name, students will have access to (but not limited to) the following internal websites through the wireless access:
- england.morainepark.edu
- faculty.morainepark.edu
- mymptc.morainepark.edu
- www.careernet.org
They will NOT have access to the following:
- Printing
- Any lab software or any non-web based applications
- Novell client (They will not see directory structure associated with logging in through Novell on a lab computer; however they will have access to their files through the myfiles.morainepark.edu website).
