Fundamentals of Press Brake Operation

Moraine Park Technical College, in partnership with the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International, will host a workshop for participants to learn the best techniques for precision sheet metal work and the math behind sheet metal bending as they get real experience on a press brake forming a box. This hands-on event uses curriculum developed by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA). The training is geared toward new operators, engineers, designers and programmers and will explore:FMA Logo

  • Press brakes – their operation and related terminology
  • Controls and programming
  • How different forming methods relate to bend types
  • The 20 percent rule of air forming
  • Proper use of hand tools
  • Safety  

Date:   Monday, September 14, 21 and 28

Time:   Classroom and Hands-on:    6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
