Library Policies and Procedures
Welcome to the libraries at Moraine Park Technical College. Each campus has a library and staff to assist you both on campus and online. The libraries have collections of materials both print and electronic to support the informational and educational needs as well as mission of the college. The library website provides 24/7 access to the online catalog, E-Reserves, magazine and journal databases and much more. Check with library staff—in person, by phone or by e-mail for any questions regarding access.

Renewals are not allowed if other users have requested the material. Access to our online catalog
allows you to renew your own materials if you wish as long as you have a library barcode. You
will not be able to renew if the item is currently requested by another patron, if the item is
overdue or you have fines or fees on your account.
Materials that have restricted checkout:

Equipment: check with circulation staff
Student and Community Fines:
$.10 per day for books
$.50 per day for reserves
Student and community overdue notices are mailed 1 day after the material is due and again at 1 week if the material has not been returned. Materials overdue more than two weeks will have minimum fine of $6.00, a hold on the student record and/or fines that include the replacement of the material. Faculty/Staff notices are sent via interoffice mail and call staff via US mail. Fines are usually not associated with faculty/staff; however, upon leaving employment, all materials must be returned or replacement costs will be charged.
Returning Materials:
Both Moraine Park materials and interlibrary loans may be returned to any Moraine Library Campus Circulation Desk. A book drop is available outside the library at the West Bend Campus only.
The Catalog for the MPTC library is available online via the library page on MPTC website and includes books and AV materials housed at all three locations. Materials can be routed to any MPTC campus for your use /pickup.

A patron may request a library material that is checked out to another patron. Interlibrary loan requests may be made for materials not owned by MPTC. Check with library staff to create either request.
Instructors may place AV or print materials on regular reserve (physical shelf) at any campus library for student use.
Instructors may request creation of an E-reserve account for any class. E-reserves are accessed online via the library page on or off campus using a password issued by each instructor.
