ANSI, a private nonprofit membership organization supported by a diverse constituency of private and public sector organizations, is the administrator and coordinator of the U.S. private sector voluntary standardization system. American Welding Society (AWS)
The American Welding Society (AWS) was founded in 1919 as a multifaceted, nonprofit organization (50,000 members worldwide) with a goal to advance the science, technology and application of welding and cutting processes, including brazing, soldering and thermal spraying. The future vision of AWS is ambitious and will require hard work and commitment by the industry, but expectations are high for maintaining a competitive worldwide position for welding well into the new century.

CWB Group
The Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB), a Division of the CWB Group, is accreditation covers the welding certification programs for companies engaged in fusion welding, welding consumables and welding inspection organizations. GCIL Training: the education division and QUASAR: the Registration Division are the two divisions of CWB group.

The welding school was started in 1930 as a department of the Hobart Brothers Company. Today, the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology is a nonprofit educational institution. The Institute educates and trains individuals in the use and application of welding technologies; develops and disseminates welding training and educational materials; and conducts certification research and qualifications for the welding industry.
