International Studies
In a world in which people around the globe connect and do business instantly through technology, it becomes increasingly important to learn about other countries and their languages, customs and ways of doing business. Moraine Park understands the importance of offering international travel opportunities to enhance students’ education with hands-on global experiences!
This international section allows our current and prospective students to access information about opportunities sponsored by Moraine Park, including trips to England and Mexico. The England trip is for individuals who are enrolled in the Career Development or International Study courses. The trip to Mexico is a non-credit course open to everyone - students, staff and community members - and offers intensive training in the Spanish language, a benefit for business managers who work with employees who speak Spanish.
Moraine Park also has an exchange program with the Friedrich List School, a vocational school in Darmstadt, Germany. The Friedrich List students spend three weeks in the U.S. in the fall, attending classes at Moraine Park, completing their own projects, touring local companies, and visiting Madison and Chicago. In the spring, Moraine Park students travel to the partner school in Germany, tour businesses, schools and cities, visit with state and local education administrators and reconnect with the German students they met earlier. For both groups, the exchange is an opportunity to learn or improve a new language, learn about other countries, and gain international contacts and experience to prepare themselves for the global marketplace.
