Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Training

Moraine Park Technical College offers the required annual MSHA Mine Safety Refresher Courses required by law for "miners and contractors engaged in shell dredging or employed in sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay or surface limestone operations." The 8-hour courses are held on the Beaver Dam Campus on various Fridays in January, February and March of each year. Topics covered in the courses change annually, as 8 hours of training are required each year for "any person at the mine site. Such persons may include, but are not limited to, office personnel, delivery workers and customers" (Section 46.11b).
