Entry Level Fire Fighter 60 Hours
Skills of the entry level course include: Firefighter Safety, Fire Behavior, Portable Fire Extinguishers, Personal Protective Clothing, SCBA, Rescue and Search, Hose Basics, Fire Streams, Forcible Entry, Ladder Basics, Ventilation, Salvage and Overhaul Fire Streams, Fire Control Evolution's (Live Fire), and Hazardous Materials.
Certified Firefighter I
Certified Firefighter I course includes skills from Entry Level Firefighter as well as Utilities Safety, Ropes and Knots, Rope Rescue, Foam, Standpipes, Fire Cause Determination, Fire Prevention/Public Education, Fire Alarm and Communications, Wildland Fires, and Sprinkler Systems.
Certified Firefighter II
The skills of the Firefighter II course include: Building Construction, Rescue Tools, Vehicle Extrication, Special Rescue, Salvage and Overhaul, Fire Cause Determination, Automatic Sprinkler Systems, Fire Prevention/Public Fire Education, Water Supply, Hose Testing and Inspection, and Advanced Skills in Hose, Fire Control, Fire Behavior, Fire Streams, and Ladders.
Fire Officer I Certification
This course deals with the instruction in the area to be performed by company officers and uses the "Fire Officer" materials from the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA). To complete all required objectives of NFPA 1041 two additional National Fire Academy classes are required, Fire Arson detection or Arson Detection for the First Responder and Conducting Basic Fire Inspections.
Certified Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator
These courses deal with instruction in those areas related to the operating of fire apparatus with a heavy emphasis on driving and hydraulics. The course is a mix of classroom and hands on instruction, including the use of the student's fire apparatus.
Certified Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator
This course deals with the instruction in the operation of fire department aerial apparatus with a strong emphasis on stabilization, and safe operating principles. This course is a mix of classroom and hands-on instruction using the student's fire department apparatus.
Entry Level Driver/Operator
In preparation for driving exercises the students will be provided an overview of types of fire apparatus, apparatus maintenance, apparatus positioning, defensive driving and the legal aspects of emergency vehicle operation. The students will then operate fire department apparatus through a series of skill stations to demonstrate safe driving principles.
Entry Level Driver/Operator II
The second purpose of the course is to train the students to pump the correct engine pressures during fireground situations, utilizing fire department apparatus. The student will be required to establish water supplies, and then supply water to hose lines and appliances at correct pressures. The student will be instructed in simple hydraulic formulas to form a basis for determining the correct pressures.
Entry Level Driver/Operator III
The students will receive instruction on stabilization of aerial apparatus, basic aerial operations, and operator maintenance. The students will then demonstrate the principles of safe operations utilizing fire department aerial devices.
